As our main support group, you are the first with whom Matt & I are pleased to share the first online course of Stone Cottage’s house!
This course on the basic concepts of the patterns mixture has been created in response to the questions I have received over the years about the patterns mixture. The mixture of pattern, color and texture has long been the custom for British owners, whether they live in a mansion or cabin. It is this rich mixture of patterns that gives it the distinctive appearance of the life layer of the style of the English house. I just adore this aspect and I enjoyed adding it to our house, so I thought about sharing what I learned with you!
This course includes more than half an hour of practical instruction on the basic concepts of the pattern mixture. You will learn how to start with a “hero” or print when creating a room scheme with multiple patterns. Together, we create two different room schemes built from the same impression of heroes. This will help you give an idea how flexible can be your impression of hero when you want to achieve the appearance with the pieces you have at hand.
We will discuss the challenges of the scale in the pattern mixture and how to create a cohesive appearance that is easy in sight.
I will share the fabrics, the wallpaper and art, I am considering the change of image of our bedroom. This has been a very fun project! I chose a color palette that works with the rest of our house, but it has a different and quiet sensation that is particularly quiet.
We will also discuss the placement of patterns. I remember asking: “Is there a rule for this? Are you always supposed to place large -scale impressions on large pieces such as curtains or sofa?
The course also includes a frequently done questions and work sheets to help you evaluate and increase their own projects. We are pleased to have a resource like this to offer and wait to see you there!
